Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny, little town that is a bit sleepy. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of different communities. Many who've never known about it may think it is a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often mentioned, but her brief visit to the West Island did not last long. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. The first goal she had was to be a dancer but a growth spurt meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. The article she wrote about her experience revealed published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. Once I outgrew male partners at that point, I gave up. A lot of former dancers go on to act. For Brugel, it was the encouragement of her drama teacher at her high school which pushed her to the path she required. It was the teacher who recommended she take on a part in the school's annual production. She was chosen to play the main part in Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than 20 years and she's performed in more than 60 shows including big screen productions and smaller ones. The most well-known role she played was as Rita (pictured beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in the season 1 which was viewed only on occasion.
